Burg Hocheppan GmbH

In 2016 Hocheppan Castle was acquired by the municipality of Eppan an der Weinstrasse. A company, Hocheppan GmbH was set up to take care of and run the castle. Thanks to its special location and beauty, Hocheppan Castle counts as one of the most impressive historical witnesses to the Middle Ages. To preserve this uniqueness, Hocheppan GmbH set itself the objective of keeping the castle as natural and authentic as possible. The entire ensemble is enlivened and animated by a variety of different medieval sites and unique experiences, such as the Castle Tavern, the Chapel, hourly guided tours in German, Italian and English between 11 am and 4 pm, and the archery course around the Hocheppan castle complex.

The six-person Administrative Board of Burg Hocheppan GmbH comprises the following members: the President of the Südtiroler Burgeninstitut (South Tyrolean Castles Association), Carl Philipp Baron Hohenbühel, the mayor of Eppan, Wilfried Trettl, Monika Hofer Larcher, Heidi Felderer, Felix von Wohlgemuth and Evelyn Falser.

The Cultural Advisory Council, to which renowned personalities from the cultural, architectural, economic and tourism spheres belong, was appointed by the municipal council.

The Cultural Advisory Council consists of the following members:

  • Walburga Kössler,
  • Walter Landi,
  • Judith von Lutterotti,
  • Ute Oberrauch,
  • Siegfried de Rachewiltz and
  • Martin von Malfèr.

The Cultural Advisory Council provides advice and support to the President, Director and Administrative Board.
